Business Development and Consultancy
The Business Development and Consultancy unit is involved in the development, implementation and management of business development and consultancy stragegies and activities of the Council. The unit promotes the culture of productivity and quality among different stakeholders through consultancy, best practices, representations, high level engagement and lobbies/pressure groups. It also formulates, elaborates and proposes strategies for the effective implementation and monitoring projects. The unit services large corporates as well as Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) besides Government organisations. It also provide the necessary frameworks, techniques and methods as well as the know-how that help organisations embark on their productivity journey and making them efficient at all levels.
Research, Advisory and Knowledge Management
The Research, Advisory and Knowledge Management unit acts as the research arm and resource centre for research and published works on productivity, quality and competitiveness issues by collecting, organising and disseminating relative information for policy formulation and planning and to provide high quality analysis and information sources and services to support research, development and other promotional activities. The unit has also under its wings the Knowledge Management Centre that liaises and establishes linkages with other institutions and productivity organisations both in Mauritius and overseas.
Innovation, Advocacy and Entrepreneurship
The main purpose of the Innovation, Advocacy and Entrepreneurship (IAE) unit is to promote a culture of creativity and productivity, innovation and entrepreneurship among different stakeholders through best practices and high level engagement. The unit involves in the development and implementation of innovative strategies to promote entrepreneurship develppment and entrepreneurship skills to different target groups. Besides, the unit is also active in the field of innovation and in creating original programming to attract stakeholders and developing social entrepreneurship.
Expertise spearheading the unit includes a large spectrum of talents ranging from Design Thinking, to Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Creative Industries, Emerging Technologies such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. Our experts have also the ability to promote leadership including Innovation Management along with legal advisory.
The IAE unit targets different sectors, namely the education sector, business sector and the community at large. It collaborates with various institutions to reach out to employers, workers, students, youth and women with low academic background amongst others.
Productivity and Competitiveness Learning Centre
The Productivity and Competitiveness Learning Centre drives and promotes the culture of productivity and quality among different stakeholders through sustained training and development facilitation in collaboration with the Business Development and Consultancy, Research, Advisory and Knowledge Management, and the Innovation, Advocacy and Entrepreneurship departments. The unit takes the leading role in the formulation and development of the NPCC’s training and development policy. While the PCLC is engaged in designing and conducting high calibre industry-oriented training programmes, it is also active in bespoke courses for corporates that are delivered at the NPCC or at the company.
