01. About Me

Dr. Vinaye Ancharaz joined the NPCC as Executive Director on 9 July 2025, bringing over 25 years of distinguished expertise in international economics, trade policy and sustainable development. A highly accomplished economist and policy advisor, Dr. Ancharaz has built an exceptional career advising governments, multilateral institutions and academic bodies across Africa and globally.

02. My Journey

Prior to joining the NPCC, Dr. Ancharaz served as an International Economic Consultant to prestigious organisations including the London School of Economics, United Nations agencies, the World Bank and the African Development Bank. His previous roles as Senior Development Economist/Programme Manager at ICTSD Geneva and Principal Research Economist at the African Development Bank demonstrate his deep expertise in trade policy, industrial competitiveness and productivity growth.

03. My Approach

An influential thought leader, Dr. Ancharaz has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and policy briefs while regularly speaking at high-level international forums including WTO, UNCTAD, and COP conferences. His contributions to economics have earned him recognition as one of the 100 Most Influential Economists by the Copenhagen Consensus Center, along with other prestigious honors such as the David Begg Prize and Fulbright Scholarship.

04. My Education

Dr. Ancharaz holds a Ph.D. in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University, an MBA from Imperial College London and a B.Sc (Hons) in Economics from the University of Mauritius. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) of the UK and a Certified Transformational Coach.
