Ebène, 09.09.20: The transformation of five local companies that participated in the SCORE (Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises) programme has been published in a case study compiled by the NPCC.
This collection of success stories illustrates improvements experienced in the following companies:

• Box Manufacturing Limited
• Exotic Garments Company Limited
• Royaume de Délices Limited
• SSS Furniture Limited
The case study focuses on the achievements of the companies that included Higher productivity, safer and cleaner workplace, higher employee morale, discipline and rigour in operations, improved efficiency, waste elimination, improvement in flow of materials, improvement in shop floor accessibility, reduction in waiting time in workshops, better teamwork and collaboration to resolve bottlenecks, team empowerment, higher output volume, better stock update and space optimisation.
The NPCC partnered with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to implemented the SCORE programme in Mauritius from October 2019 to March 2020. SCORE is an ILO global programme that improves productivity and working conditions in small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The primary goal of the global programme is the effective implementation of SCORE Training - which combines practical classroom training with in-factory consulting. SCORE is particularly relevant for enterprises (between 50-250 employee size) facing internal challenges affecting its market competitiveness such as quality, productivity, energy inefficient production practices, environmental pollution, production waste, health and safety or human resource management. Mr. Kalyan Ganesh, SCORE expert trained some 30 participants on the SCORE programme and its implication for a higher productivity in business operations.
Besides the training, the project involved in-house consultancy which included the implementation of a series of measures to make these companies more productive and competitive.
