Productivity growth has slackened over the last decade. Mauritian firms continue to trail their high-income competitors on important productivity measures in key sectors. The current Covid-19 pandemic crisis threatens to exacerbate it further. The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent policies and restrictions on individuals and businesses have generated broad impacts on Mauritian businesses, including temporary closures, revenue losses and workforce changes.
